It was a chaotic Saturday morning at the Miller's place. Jeanette was pacing around the living room checking her purse, with Brittany watching her every move, her own expression getting more annoyed by the minute. Eleanor was sitting on the couch, watching TV, but found herself also hindered by Jeanette's behavior.

"Breath mints? Check. Money? Check. Emergency money? Double check." Jeanette rambled against herself,

Brittany gave a annoyed sigh as her sister checked her purse for the tenth time in three minutes. "Jean, will you PLEASE stop it?" Brittany said, snatching the purse from Jeanette's hands. "It's not like it's important."

"NOT IMPORTANT?" Jeanette yelled against her older sister. "Me and Simon have our first date."

"STUDY date, Jeanette." Eleanor said, flipping through the channels. "You needed help with that big test Tuesday and Simon volunteered to help you."

"But he said that we were going to the movies afterwards." Jeanette said, grabbing her purse back from Brittany. "He's taking me to that movie I want to see so badly. That sounds kinda like a date."

"Only because it's the last day they play him and you practically begged Simon to go between breaks." Eleanor said.

"And you'll go back to study AFTER the movies." Brittany said, rolling her eyes. "What's up with that?"

"The movie plays at 2PM, so we still have lots of time to study afterwards." Jeanette said.

"It's a romantic movie, Right?" Brittany said with a grin. "Maybe you'll have time to do 'something else' afterwards too."

The eldest and youngest sister began to giggle, and Jeanette just got a blush. "Stop it." She shyly whispered.

"Jean, we all know that you have a huge crush on Simon." Eleanor said.

"Heck, even Alvin and Theodore suspect something." Brittany said. "Only Mr. Oblivious is too …oblivious to notice it. I think you don't show enough …."

"Enough WHAT, Brittany?" Jeanette growled at her sister, getting fed up by her sister's nagging.

"Not enough 'you'." Brittany said with a grin.

"Simon knows me very well." Jeanette said. "We're best friends."

"That's not what I think she means, Jean." Eleanor said.

"Than what does she mean?" Jeanette asked.

"Jean, sis, we're 16 years old." Brittany said, "We all got great bodies, so why not 'show' a little to Simon. Show a little flesh."

A blush appeared on Jeanette's face. "If you think I'm going to dress up like you when you go out with Alvin …forget it." Jeanette said, walking away from her sister.

"What? I've always got Alvin's full attention on our dates." Brittany said.

"That's because he's not looking at your 'eyes', Britt." Jeanette yelled from the other room.

"So what?" Brittany said, waving Jeanette's comment away. "It got the job done last week."

"Yeah, we know." Eleanor said, rolling her eyes. "Miss Miller practically threw Alvin out of your room that morning. I've never seen her that mad."

"We're old enough and besides, we used protection." Brittany said. "Speaking of which." She walked over to Jeanette's purse, who had left it on the table and slipped something in it. "Always be prepared, little sis."

"You know she's going to be mad at you when she finds out." Eleanor said. "Or very embarrassed if Simon finds them."

"You never know." Brittany giggled, walking back to her seat in the couch. "Might start a nice conversation that can turn into something …nice for her."

"What's that you're rambling about, Britt?" Jeanette said, coming from the other room.

"Nothing." Brittany said. "Clothes 'n stuff."

"O-kay?" Jeanette said raising an eyebrow. "Well, I'm off." She grabbed her purse and walked to the door.

"Jean, honey, you're forgetting something." Miss Miller said.

"What?" Jeanette said, starting to panic.

"Your books, dear." Miss Miller said, giving a pack of them to Jeanette.

"O-oh, yeah." Jeanette said, putting the books in her purse. "Can't study without my books."

She walked out the door and walked in the direction to the Seville's house. She smiled brightly when she saw Simon through the window of his room. He smiled back as he noticed her.

"I can't wait …" she looked around a bit, although no-one was on the street but her. "T-to study, off course."

She skipped happily to the front door and rang the bell. She opened her purse, wanting to take out her comb, but then her hand found a little square package with a circle in the middle.

A blush came on her face, yet with an awkward smile. "Brittany." She whined.

She quickly placed the thing back in her purse as the door opened.

"H-hey Dave." She said shyly to the Chipmunk's adoptive father.

"Hey Jeanette." Dave said, taking no notice of her shy behavior. "Simon's upstairs. Ready to study?"
"Sure am." Jeanette said, walking inside.

"Hey, Jean." Alvin said, walking out the door.. "By Jean. Have fun with your 'Study Date'. I'm off to soccer practice."

"Have fun." Both Dave and Jeanette said.

"Well, I'm off too." Jeanette said as she walked upstairs. She walked over to Simon's room and knocked the door.

"Enter." A voice said inside.

With a smile on her face, she entered the room.

About ten minutes earlier.

"Alvin, get out of my room." Simon said, as he placed the plate with snacks on his table.

"It's your first date, so I want to give you some of my best advice." Alvin said.

Simon sighed. "It's not a date, it's a study date." Simon said. "And Alvin, after your 'little adventure' with Brittany last week, resulting into Miss Miller practically throwing you out of your girlfriend's room, which resulted into a two-hour long talk with Dave, who included Theodore and me into that talk, which was very embarrassing for the three of us, I don't you' advice, thank you very much. "

"Okay …" Alvin said, rolling his eyes. "But just in case …the best parts you can tickle her to get her in 'the mood' are …"

"Out. Off. My. Room. Alvin." Simon said, getting a blush. He pushed his brother out of the room and began checking if everything was ready.

"Notes? Check. Notes of the notes? Check.
Study Music? Check." He said to himself as he walked around his room. "Snacks, both the healthy and otherwise kind? Check. Drinks? Check."

"Brother who denies preparing for a date?" Alvin's voice said outside the door.

"Double check." Simon said, too busy in his thoughts to immediately notice the joke. "H-hey? ALVIN."

Alvin kicked the door open and walked back in. "You can't deny it, bro." he smirked. "You ARE going on a date with her. You're going to the movies, for crying out loud. To a romantic movie she's been dying to see."

"Yeah, but early in the afternoon, so we can study afterward AND because today is the last day they play it." Simon said. "You know that the movie theatre has to close early today for the renovations."

"Okay, okay. Here!" He tossed an envelope to Simon, who caught it. "You left the tickets in my room. Don't want you running around when you can't find them, don't we?"

"Thanks Alvin." Simon said, putting the envelope in his pockets.

"AND just in case …here's this." Alvin said, throwing another thing to Simon.

A crimson blush came on Simon's face when he noticed what the small square package with the circle in the middle was.

"ALVIN." Simon said. "It's not going to be like that! It's not going …"

But Alvin already had left the room.

"…to be like that …" Simon sighed. "Now I'm stuck with this thing." He walked over to his desk and placed the thing in his drawer.

He turned to his window to open it for the fresh air, when his heart jumped up. There she was. Walking happily to the house. He smiled when she smiled when she noticed him. They waved at each other. She walked out of his sight.

He heard the bell. The door opening. He heard the voices of Jeanette, Dave and Alvin, but didn't hear what they said.

Someone knocked the door.

"Enter." He said. He smiled as Jeanette walked into the room, having her shy smile on her face. "Hey Jean."

"H-hi Simon." Jeanette said. "R-ready to begin?"

"S-sure." Simon said. "Okay, you can take place at my desk and I'll install myself on my bed."

"Okay." Jeanette said with a smile. "I want to thank you again for letting me study with you, I'm really nervous for that test."

"You'll do fine, even more then fine." Simon said with a reassuring smile. "It's your best subject."

"I know, but I HATE test." Jeanette said.

"Last week you said you loved making test." Simon said with a grin.

"Shut up." Jeanette said, giving him a soft push before going to Simon's desk. "Where do you keep your pencils?"

"Top drawer." Simon said. "Where are your books?"

"In my purse." Jeanette said, as she opened the drawer. She froze as she saw something familiar in the drawer. The same package that she had in her purse.

The same thing happened to Simon as he took out Jeanette's books. He also had noticed the familiar package.

Both turned to each other.

"Something wrong?" they both asked each other. "No. Nothing." After a brief silence, they both laughed.

"Okay, okay, It's just that I noticed a certain …package in your purse." Simon said with a blush.

"You probably mean the same package that is in your drawer?" Jeanette asked, cheeks crimson red. "Alvin?"

"Yep." Simon said. "Brittany?"

"Probably." Jeanette said. "I think she has put it in my purse as …I don't know why she would do that."

"Probably because of the same reason Alvin had given me mine." Simon said, placing Jeanette's books on the desk. "Because they won't believe or accept this is just a normal study date and that not everything that has the word 'date' in it has to end …their way."

"Indeed." Jeanette said, still with a crimson blush on her cheeks. "W-well, now we have …that out of the way …shall we study?"

"Let's." Simon said.

Half an hour later the whole ordeal had been forgotten. Both were quietly studying, occasionally asking each other questions about the subjects. Two hours later, at midday, Dave came upstairs with sandwiches for the two studiers.

"So …" Simon said with a mouth full of egg-and-cheese-sandwich. "Why do you want to see that movie so bad?"

Jeanette swallowed her piece of sandwich and got a blush. "Promise you won't laugh? Or judge me because of it?"

"Lighting strikes me if I do." Simon said, making a lightning bolt on his chest.

"Well, the reason why I want to see this movie so bad …" Jeanette began. "Is because the girl in the story kinda reminds me of myself."

"How's that?" Simon asked.

"A young girl, her mind only set on studying, only a few friends, only one BEST friend, …" She began. "Not pretty enough for boys to find a boyfriend, …"

"Okay, you're nothing like that." Simon said. "You also sing and play instruments, you have lots of friends and you certainly are very pretty."

Jeanette blushed. "You …think I'm pretty."

Simon blushed. "W-well, off course, what idiot would not find you beautiful?"

"Every boy in our school." Jeanette said, looking at her feet. Her eyes jumped up to Simon. "Except you."

Simon blushed. He wanted to open his mouth to say something, when someone knocked the door.

"Come in." Simon said.

Dave opened the door. "Guys, I think it's about time for to go to the movies."

Simon checked his watch. "Crap, we're going to be late if we don't move now." He grabbed Jeanette by the arm and ran out the room. "By Dave!"

"See you later, Dave!" Jeanette managed to yell before they ran out the house.

The two teens ran as hard as they could, fearing that they would be late. Luckily for them they were just in time to buy tickets and get into the room before they closed the doors for the movie.

The movie was just like Jeanette had said. A romantic movie about a 'geeky' teenage girl who had trouble finding love, but surprisingly found it with her best friend. It was better than Simon had suspected and enjoyed it as much as Jeanette did.

They were about halfway through the movie when Simon noticed something. His hand at the side where Jeanette sat, was resting on something soft and warm. A blush came on his face when he noticed his hand was resting on Jeanette's. The latter had noticed it too at the same time, which resulted at them gazing in each other's eyes as the girl and boy of the movie shared their first romantic moment in the movies.

They just smiled at each other for a moment and then turned their attention back to the movie, but didn't – or wouldn't – remove their intertwined hands.

The movie had finished and the two teens walked back home – Still holding hands, neither of them in a hurry.

"That was a good movie." Simon said.

"You really think so?" Jeanette asked happily. "I thought you wouldn't like it."

"Unlike my brothers – especially Alvin – I can appreciate the art of romance and love – even though I'm not very good at it." Simon said.

He suddenly noticed how close they were walking to each other. Holding hands, fingers entertwined, shoulder against shoulder. The intimacy made him feel …strange, uneasy. But it felt ..right.

The same thing went through Jeanette. Her heart was pounding like crazy. She was actually holding hands with a boy, and the the boy liked it, so far she could tell. And the thing she liked the most aobut it, was the fact that that boy was Simon. Her happiness couldn't get greater at this point.

Once back home, the study began anew, but a lot more relaxed and a little less serious than before the movie. Both were sitting on the bed, with Simon resting against the wall and jeanetting leaning against his knees. They took a lot more – and longer breaks between study and they talked more about subjects that even didn't had the slightest connection with the things they were studying. Both teens were …happy and content.

The evening fell and Simon suggest Jeanette to walk her home, which she happily agreed to. Not only because she could spent a little more time with Simon that way, but also because the dark made her kinda nervous.

"I had a really good time." Jeanette said to Simon as they were walking her home.

"Me too." Simon smiled. "A very good time, indeed."

They both remained quiet for the reminder of the short walk. Once at the door, Jeanette had collected enough courage to ask the thing she wanted to ask for the entire walk.

"A-any chance we could do this again sometime?" Jeanette asked.

"Off course, as soon as we know the date of our next test." Simon said.

"Not really what I meant." Jeanette said with a blush.

Simon froze for a second. "Than what do you mean?" he asked, obviously knowing the answer.

"I'd like … a study date …without the 'study'." Jeanette said, taking a step closer to Simon, so their chests were almost touching. " A real 'romantic-movie-like'  date."

"Well …euh, I mean, this …you  …" Simon stuttered, getting red.

Jeanette's hopeful expression turned into a disappointed one. "Oh …I see." Jeanette said, her hand gliding to the doorknob. "Forget I ever asked."

Simon grabbed her arm and pulled her against his chest, so their noses were touching.

"Hold on a moment." Simon said softly.

"Simon." Jeanette whispered, surprised by his action.

"Sorry, I was just a bit …thrown off guard by your question." Simon said. "Why would you like …that kind of date."

"Isn't it obvious?" Jeanette whispered, slowly wrapping her arms around his waist. "Don't you see why?"

Simon remained silent for a moment. He didn't know what to say.

"I …I get it if you don't want to see me for a while." Jeanette said, trying to softly push Simon of her. But Simon pulled her gently back against him.

"I know why." Simon whispred against her. "I see why. But can you see why I agree."

It took Jeanette a second to notice that Simon – in a way – had agreed to a real date. A blush came on her face.

"For the same reason I asked you for that date?" Jeanette asked, a smile appearing on her face.

Simon didn't say anything anymore. He just wrapped his arms around her and placed his lips on hers. In a matter of seconds, a million kind of emotions and sensations ran through the two kissing teens. They felt sparks flowing from each others lips through their entire bodies, making them feel alive and full of energy. Through that one, first kiss, they felt connected in a way they hadn't with anyone else or wouldn't want to have with anyone else.

What felt like hours for them, were really seconds. Simon broke up the kiss, slightly blushing. Jeanette, wobbling on her feet, threw her arms around his neck, smiling brightly.
"Was that your …first kiss." Jeanette asked.

"Sure was." Simon said. "yours?"

"mm-mh." She said. "You're a natural."

"So are you." Simon said. "So …what will happen next?"

Jeanette giggled as she playfully pushed Simon of her. "I guess that we should time – like tomorrow – work that out."

She planted a kiss on Simon's cheek and moved her mouth to his ear. "you know that thing in your drawer of your desk?" she whispred warmly. "Keep it close to you. You never know when we can use it."

Simon chuckled as he pulled her into a final hug. "You betcha."

Jeanette pushed herself of Simon and walked to the door, giving her 'something-more-than-just-her-best-friend' a final look, before closing the door.

"Wow." Simon said to himself.

Content and having great expectations for tomorrow, the two teens prepared for the evening, knowing they had to answer a lot of questions for their siblings. But neither of them cared. They both had their first kiss. And they knew that a lot more would follow.
